Je ne suis pas croyante, mais la musique est belle. Il s'est passé des choses étranges aujourd'hui et j'ai même été à la librairie pour essayer de me renseigner. Je cherche à comprendre pourquoi les gens me content leur vie en 2 minutes, alors qu'on ne se connait même pas. Mon père nous a enseigné l'astronomie à moi, ma famille, les amis du club science qu'il avait fondé...Pourquoi les gens me parlent de Dieu et de choses un peu ésotériques. Moi, la scientifique, je n'ai pas encore de réponse.

Excellent medieval folk, IGR, & those with ears to hear. I love the sense of mysticism and deep, introspective ponder this album conveys, & the honest down-to-earth folky lyrics. Simply wonderful yet soulfully rich. Highlights for me are tracks 2, 5, 6, & 12. IGR truly capture what I feel is an authentic sense of a medieval bard at a woodland rill pondering the mysteries of life. Highly recommended. 8.5+/10.

With ‘Laid Under Leaf’ Patrick Aston has crafted the most exquisitely acute sonic exploration of melancholia. This is breathtakingly beautiful, jewel-like portraits of nature. The dark folk style has much in common with Gravenhurst, but the tones of Dark Leaves are much warmer & all enveloping, like slowly drowning in deep warm water. A number of the songs, if you listen carefully, have echoes of 1980's era The Cure, which marries well with the folk finger-picking guitar. Absolutely captivating.
