The Shenango Dog-Boy may have been a werewolf type creature or it may have just been a poor child with hypertrichosis. In either case he was supposed to have been the result of the workings of a coven of witches who lived in a certain red house. Perhaps he was a witch’s child cursed with a medical abnormality or perhaps he was a different creature altogether. It seems a sad story either way. The tale comes from Mercer County, Pennsylvania.
